Mental Health: Our Linkages


 Network North Coalition (NNC)

The NNC was established by the Regional Director in early October 2003. It consists of key stakeholder from the mental health sector and the community (many are members of Local DHB Stakeholder Networks). NNC meets on a monthly basis. The NNC is in the process of establishing a five-year plan for mental health.

 The Northern Regional Mental Health Funding Team (NRMHFT)

The Northern Regional Mental Health Funding Team is a mechanism which brings together DHB Mental Health Funders and Planners as a single entity in the interests of increasing regional efficiencies and consistency, optimising scarce resources and expertise and supporting regional linkages. The RMHFT consists of participants from:

  • NDSA mental health managers
  • DHB Mental Health Funders and Planners from each Northern Regional DHB
  • MAPO representatives
     

values and philosophies underpinning the work of the NRMHFT are based on improving health outcomes and services for service users.

 Maori Health

Service planning by the Regional DHBs and NDSA includes working in partnership with the Maori Co-Purchasing Organisations (MAPO), Tihi Ora MAPO, Tainui MAPO and Te Tai Tokerau MAPO Trust to ensure that developments are consistent with wider sector developments for Maori and for Mental Health.

 Pacific Mental Health

Collaboration with the Pacific Health General Managers of Funding and Planning includes participation in the Regional Pacific Health Forum and working in consultation with and support of Pacific Health Workforce initiatives such as the development of the Pacific Mental Health and Addiction Plan.
